After four-and-a half years of marriage, the couple who found love in the Australian jungle in 2004 on reality TV show I‘m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! made the announcement via their management company today.

The pair got hitched during a lavish pink Cinderella-style wedding complete with horse drawn carriages at Highclere Castle in Hampshire, England, in 2005. They have two children together, son Junior, three, and one-year-old daughter Princess Tiáamii.

Price also has a son, Harvey, from a previous relationship with soccer star Dwight Yorke.

“Peter Andre and Katie Price are separating after four-and-a-half years of marriage.

“They have both requested that the media respect their families’ privacy at this difficult time,” a statement from their management said.

Rumours have been rife for months that their marriage was on the rocks. And the announcement comes a day after British tabloid The Sun published snaps and a video of Price out on the razz – without her husband Andre.

Price, 30, and Andre, 36, have always vigorously denied that their marriage was in trouble, and had attempted to dispel the rumours by recently talking about plans to add to their brood of children.

“I always fall pregnant so quick, so I can guarantee that I will have another baby or be pregnant by the end of the year,” Price said during an interview last month.

Bickering

Despite the pesky reports, the tabloid darlings also put on a faux united front as they took part in the London marathon together in April. Here they are during a press conference for the event. Other reports claim Price has frequently been spotted without her wedding ring of late, prompting speculation that all was not as it seems in the love nest.

And in an interview with OK! magazine in October, Price said that infidelity would be the only thing that could break her and Andre apart.

“I wouldn’t [leave him]. It would only be if he cheated on me. I think that’s the same for both of us – there’s nothing else that would make us break up – only if one of us was unfaithful.”

Andre had a similar stance on what would cause a potential rift between them.”I would only ever leave her if she cheated on me or started doing drugs.

“If I saw Katie holding hands with another bloke I’d go ballistic. I’m a hot-blooded Greek,” he recently said.

It’s no secret that Andre has often revealed that he struggled with his wife’s hedonistic lifestyle and larger-than-life alter ego, Jordan.

“I trust her when she’s sober, but I don’t trust her when she’s drinking.

“It makes our relationship vulnerable. From the moment she starts drinking I lose her and I won’t get her back until the next morning,” he revealed in his autobiography.

Pre-nup

Word has it that the two wisely signed a pre-nuptial agreement (reportedly on Peter’s insistance) before they tied the knot.

“Whatever happens, I can’t take half of what she’s got. I don’t want anything from her apart from her love,” the singer said at the time.

Surprised by the split? Not a lot. We saw this one coming a mile off.

Married life for the tan-friendly, tangerine pair can’t have been easy. Dubbed as a fairytale love affair, the two fell for each other on I’m a Celebrity… and tried in vain to silence the naysayers who predicted their romance would falter as soon as the TV credits rolled.

Give them their dues; the pair had a persistent, if somewhat fame-fawning, willingness to share the finer intricacies of their personal life and let it all hang, as it were. Their warts and all approach had a certain novelty value, but that beguiling diversion was ultimately thwarted by never quite winning over their critics and falling victim to whatever ultimately sabotaged their union.

The body- conscious glamour model, who’s determined to do the 26 miles, 385 yards race on 26 April, is so worried about losing her super-slim physique, she’s having to be constantly reassured by hubby Peter Andre, 35.

‘Jordan’s nervous that she could end up looking too bulky,’ says our source. ‘She’s always having a go at women who are too muscular because she likes to think she looks quite girly and svelte.’

Pete, who’s also going to do the Marathon run, is secretly hoping that she fills out a lot more, but because he knows what she’s like he’s been putting her at ease by telling her how great she looks.

Speaking about his wife’s legendary ambitiousness, Pete says: ‘I’m on my way to getting up to 26 miles. In theory, I’d beat her right now, but she’s the type of person who’d try to beat me just for the fun of it.’ Time will tell.

Workaholic Jordan braved the freezing weather over Christmas, with older brother Daniel by her side, to go for a gruelling run.

Despite her many commitments – including being a mum to Harvey, six, Junior, three, and Princess, 18 months – Jordan’s hellbent on running the London Marathon in April.

The former glamour model looked very thin again as she hit the road in Brighton, despite earlier vowing to gain weight.

Struggling to keep up with her older sibling, the 30-year-old mother of three once again appeared to be pushing herself too far.

She’s vowed, ‘I need to be running 13 miles by the New Year.’

But Ian Marber, of nutrition consultancy The Food Doctor, warns Jordan not to push herself into the challenge. ‘Over-training is as bad as undereating,’ he says.

‘To run that far, you need to have strong bones, good glucose levels and be strong overall; you’re not going to have all that if you’re as thin as she is.

‘You have to eat an awful lot of calories to see you through a 26-mile marathon and, being a model, Jordan’s not used to eating that much. Even 13 miles is very extreme.’

Being knocked out that much affected my bowels and my waterworks. I had to have a catheter fitted and I was so blocked that I couldn’t go to the toilet for 13 days. My stomach was sticking out like I was seven months pregnant – it was agony. They gave my suppositories and all sorts but it just wasn’t working. Then when I finally did go it took me three hours to give birth to a pebble! And it killed – it was like labour pains. I’m actually frightened to go to the toilet now.

The baby weighed in at a healthy 6lb 13ozs, and both mother and daughter are said to be doing well.

A spokesperson for Jordan and proud dad Peter Andre said: “Peter and Katie are happy to announce the birth of their first daughter.

“They are absolutely over the moon with the new addition to their family and delighted to have a sister for Harvey and Junior – it is a dream come true!

“Both Katie and the baby are healthy and happy, and will be spending the next few days resting in hospital.”

The couple – who knew they were having a girl – are yet to name their new arrival, although Jordan recently denied reports she was planning to call her daughter Crystal.

She said: “I can guarantee I am not calling her Crystal! I haven’t thought of any names yet.”

The 29-year-old star also vowed she would not give her daughter an unusual name like so many other celebrities, including Gwyneth Paltrow who named her child Apple and Sir Bob Geldof who called his daughter Peaches.

She said: “I won’t be calling her an unusual name like Apple, Peaches or Carrot!”
